Rule Sets
Rule Sets in DataGuard CPM enhance the functionality of widgets by providing extra conditional capabilities. By applying Rule Sets, you can tailor the user experience, implement progressive consent strategies, and enforce mandatory preferences, ensuring that your data collection processes are both effective and compliant.
Key Features of Rule Sets
Progressive Consent
Progressive Consent is a strategy that allows you to gradually ask users for consent to various purposes and preferences, rather than overwhelming them with multiple options all at once. By asking for consent to only one or two purposes at a time, users are more likely to engage with the request and make informed choices that align with their preferences. This approach not only respects the privacy preferences of users but also maximises opt-in rates by avoiding the pitfalls of information overload.
See the Increase Engagement with Progressive Consent guide for more information about progressive consent.
Mandatory Preferences
Rule Sets also enable features like mandatory preferences, which require users to interact with a specific preference before they can submit the form. This is particularly useful for ensuring compliance with legal requirements or verifying user eligibility, such as confirming if a user is over a certain age.
Permissions Rules
Here are the available rules for permissions:
Name | Description |
---|---|
Expires within | Display permission options where the current state will expire within a defined period. |
Max options | The maximum number of permission options (which meet the rule set criteria) to display to the end customer. |
No claimed | Display options where the state is not claimed. |
No granted | Display consent lawful basis options where the state is not granted (including denied). |
No pending | Display consent lawful basis options where the state is not pending. |
No state | Display permission options where no state is currently held. |
Selectable channels | Define a list of options that can be chosen as "channel" values to be sent through to the transaction on submission (to be used with the CRM capture point). |
Preferences Rules
Here are the available rules for preferences:
Name | Description |
---|---|
Mandatory preferences | Define a list of preferences that must have at least one choice selected before the form can be submitted. |
No choice selected | Display only preferences where no existing state is held. |
Targeted choices | Hide preferences where specified choices have been made. |
Other Rules
Here is the available rule for other configurations:
Name | Description |
---|---|
Blocks | Define the type of "blocks" from the Content Template to display. |
